Who doesn’t love food?
For those of you having trouble getting to sleep here are a few foods that will help you sleep better!
Nuts!
Walnuts are packed with amino-acids that help your body to sleep better by releasing serotonin and melatonin into the brain! Almonds are another delicious snack that encourage sleep. They are packed with magnesium, a mineral that has been proven to help you sleep better.
Dairy!
The calcium found in cheese, yoghurt, milk and other dairy products stimulates the production of melatonin in the brain.
Foods with a high glycemic index!
Some examples include rice, white bread. These foods will help you fall asleep faster… but careful as they are sometimes high in carbs so try not to over eat right before bed!
Greens!
The increasingly trendy Kale is sleep’s best friend with its high levels of calcium and acts the same way that dairy does by releasing melatonin in the brain.
